We are pleased to announce further details of the 2017 VATSIM convention in London, UK.

When will the 2017 VATSIM convention take place?

The convention will begin on the morning of Saturday 29th July 2017 and conclude in the afternoon of Sunday 30th July 2017. Convention events will take place on both days. An (optional) organised dinner will be arranged for Saturday 29th July 2017 in the evening. There will be an informal gathering prior to the convention on evening of Friday 28th July 2017.

VATIL Holds Town Hall Meeting on TS

VATIL hosted a Town Hall meeting on their TS channel yesterday with Yarden Ben-Dor (VATIL1) and Or Bahtari (VATIL2) leading the meeting. Also in attendance was Thomas Mathieu (VATAME1) and his assistant Mahmoud Fadli (VATAME2) along with myself. About 25 people were there from the division. Below is a list of the topics covered in this voice meeting that lasted about 1:45 on their TS channel. The meeting was in English but Hebrew translation was available.
 

VATSIM Prepares for Worldflight 2016

VATSIM is excited to welcome Worldflight 2016 to its network again this year.

Worldflight is an annual charity event in which a number of teams based in full-sized flight simulators around the globe fly a pre-defined route to visit dozens of VATSIM airports around the world. The beauty of the event: first, that local VATSIM facilities provide full air traffic control coverage for the event and all VATSIM pilots are invited to fly with us; second, that the event raises thousands for a number of worthy charities.

VATSiM Celebrates 15th Anniversary

It was on this day, July 27, 2001, that the first pilot and controller connected to the new VATSIM online network.  A big thank you to the thousands of members presently here and the thousands more who have spent time and enriched themselves and other members in the shared passion for aviation and the art of air traffic control.  We especially want to thank all the members who volunteer their time to maintain the servers and web sites, provide training in ATC and flying, supervisors who help members enjoy the network, membership volunteers who answer hundreds of tickets every month, and the

Luca Benelli Retires from BoG

Last week Luca Benelli, VATGOV3, VP of Network Systems, announced to the board that due to his increasing real life commitments he was stepping down. We have been living the last week in denial but now come to the reality we must say goodbye to a dear friend.
