South Africa gets challenging
VATSAF Challenge
THE CHALLENGE:
Fly in, and then fly one circuit only at Johannesburg's OR Tambo International Airport (FAJS) in the quickest time possible, using commercial airliners. The clock starts when your wheels start turning and stops when your wheels stop (skidding not allowed), you must complete the circuit at circuit altitude (6500 ft) and land on the same runway you departed from in your best time.
The landing should preferably be one you and most of your passengers can walk away from. ATC will be provided for your inbound and outbound flight and whilst here you are welcome to explore the rest of the South African airspace.
The winner in each class will receive the "Director's Trophy - Single Circuit Challenge". The all out loser will receive the "Cracked Chamber-Pot" award!!
CHOOSE YOUR WEAPONS
The contest will be held in 3 Classes: Class A - Wide body (heavy), 4 engine. Class B - Wide body twin engine (heavy). Class C - Narrow body twin engine. (No proppies allowed)!! A “clever” scoring systems is in development and will be made available to you after booking.
DATE AND TIME
The "madness" is scheduled for the 8th of December 2012 from 13h00z till 20h00z.FLIGHT BOOKINGA booking system will be in place shortly, but as most of us need all the practice we can get, we decided to post early!
