New York ARTCC presents selected Class D airports.
'D'elta Detour: KSWF
There is more to ZNY than JFK, PHL, LGA, and EWR. The ARTCC holds plenty of Class D airports, just waiting to see some action. Some big and some small, each one deserves the chance to be flooded with a little activity on VATSIM. One day each month, ZNY will be staffing a Class D airport, and encourages everyone on the network to check them out. VFR or IFR, general aviation or jet, the choice is yours. So come on, take a detour and join us at a spot you likely haven’t visited before.
This month, NYARTCC is featuring:
Separated by the majestic Hudson River these two airports offer good sized runways to satisfy all your VFR or IFR needs. Enjoy the view of the mountains, and the gorgeous scenery provided by the Hudson Valley. Get away from NYC and come just north to an area with lots to do.
Whether you are looking to come to Newburgh on business, or just want to practice your VFR skills, our controllers will be ready to handle your every need.
The event will take place July 11th between 2200z and 0200z +1 (6pm–10pm EDT). There will be plenty of time for a little day and night flying. Be sure to join the fun!
