BOARD OF GOVERNORS
President
Full Voting Member of the Board of Governors. Calls
and conducts BoG Meetings. Directs BoG in the performance of their
duties. Interacts with the Board Members,
Executive Committee, and/or Regional Directors as needed to accomplish
these tasks.

VP Operations
Full Voting member of the Board of Governors. Reviews,
monitors, develops, implements changes to the overall VATSIM system to
achieve optimum efficiency and interest. Interacts with the Board Members,
Executive Committee, and/or Regional Directors as needed to accomplish
these tasks.

VP Network Systems
Full Voting member of the Board of Governors. Monitors
and maintains existing VATSIM computer network. Acts as liaison
with server owners/operators. Evaluates new requests for donation
of server space and submits recommendations to BoG for
approval/disapproval. Interacts with the Board Members,
Executive Committee, and/or developers as needed to accomplish
these tasks.

VP Regions
Full Voting member of the Board of Governors. Acts as the
BoG direct representative with the various Regional Directors. Assists
RDs with inter-regional issues. Interacts with the Board Members,
Executive Committee, and/or Regional Directors as needed to accomplish

VP Development
Full Voting member of the Board of Governors. Works
directly and indirectly to plan, develop, implement, and maintain new
and/or improved services for VATSIM. Primary focus is on Squawkbox,
ProController, and FSD hosts and clients. Interacts with the Board Members,
Executive Committee, and/or software developers as needed to accomplish
these tasks.

VP Docs & Archives
Full Voting member of the Board of Governors. Maintains
all historical documents relating to the operation and development of
VATSIM. These include, but are not limited to, BoG Meeting
Minutes, e-mails, votes, Code of Regulations, and User Agreement.
Takes minutes at BoG Meetings as appropriate. Interacts with the Board Members,
Executive Committee, and/or Regional Directors as needed to accomplish
these tasks.

VP Communications
Full Voting member of the Board of Governors. Serves as
the VATSIM "Press Agent." Provides communications and
press releases to various flight sim activities to keep individuals
informed on VATSIM activities and to promote VATSIM. Interacts with the Board Members,
Executive Committee, and/or Regional Directors as needed to accomplish
these tasks.

VP Conflict Resolution
Full Voting member of the Board of Governors. Coordinates
the activities of various Regional and Division conflict resolution
panels. Receives complaints and assigns those complaints to the
appropriate area for investigation and resolution. Receives,
reviews, and acts upon appeals as outlined in the Code of
Regulations. Interacts with the Board Members,
Executive Committee, and/or Regional Directors as needed to accomplish
these tasks.

VP Virtual Airlines and Special Operations
Full Voting member of the Board of Governors. Responsible for building and maintaining VATSIM's partnerships with Virtual Airlines and with Special Operations (military, paramilitary, and civilian government flight organizations). Uses analysis and feedback to identify and implement new services for both Virtual Airlines and Special Operations. Also responsible for monitoring web sites and web links to assure compliance for VATSIM affiliation. Serves as the liaison between the BoG and Virtual Airlines, military, paramilitary, and civilian government flight organizations, within VATSIM. Establishes guidelines, provides timely review of applications, and monitors for adherence to VATSIM rules and regulations. Interacts with the Board Members, Executive Committee, and/or Regional Directors as needed to accomplish these tasks.

VP Marketing and Strategic Development
Full voting member of the board of
governors. Through analysis techniques utilizing VATSIM data and outside
data sources, identifies opportunities for strategic growth in all areas
of VATSIM. Further responsible for identification, research, and
execution of marketing strategies, including advertising promotions,
along with development of global contacts for the benefit of VATSIM
members. Works closely with the VP Communications to assure a consistent
theme. Interacts with the Board members, Executive Committee,
and/or Regional Directors as needed to accomplish these tasks.

VP Supervisors
Full Voting member of the Board of Governors.
Accepts, reviews, and processes requests for upgrade to supervisor
level. Submits requests to the Board of Governors for
approval/disapproval. Notifies individuals and Regional Directors of the
Board's decisions. Upgrades database with level changes. Monitors
performance. Conducts investigations into complaints involving
supervisory personnel. Takes action as appropriate and in accordance
with the bylaws to suspend or downgrade individuals from supervisor
level when warranted. Provides assistance as needed for training or
resolution of supervisory issues. Interacts with the Board Members,
Executive Committee, and/or Regional Directors as needed to accomplish
these tasks.

Supervisors
Responsible to the VP Supervisors. Collateral responsibility to the
Regional Directors. Monitors online controllers, pilots, and observers for
compliance with VATSIM rules and regulations. Contacts individuals who
cause a disruption of the network and attempts to resolve the situation.
May temporarily remove the individual from the network should the need
arise. Assists members online who need help whenever
possible. Forward reports of incidents to the Regional Director, VP
Supervisors, and VP Conflict Resolution. Is expected to be online a
minimum of 2 hours each week.

VP Membership
Full Voting member of the Board of Governors. Accepts
and processes individual requests for membership to VATSIM through use
of manual and/or automated system of records. Accepts and processes
changes to membership status. Maintains database, ensuring validity of
accounts. Responds to inquiries on membership status. Conducts
analysis of membership and reports results. Interacts with the Board
Members, Executive Committee, and/or Regional Directors as needed to
accomplish these tasks.

VP Pilot Training
Full Voting member of the Board of Governors. Develops, monitors,
implements, and maintains focus on pilot training programs within the
VATSIM network. Assists Regions and/or Divisions and their
training directors as appropriate. Interacts with the Board Members,
Executive Committee, and/or Regional Directors as needed to accomplish
these tasks.
