Board of Governors Meeting Minutes for 26 July 2001

Meeting called to order by George Marinakis at 8:41 P.M. EDT, 0041 UTC.

VP of Conflict Resolution

The position of VP of conflict resolution was the first item on the agenda. Two names were put forth for the board to vote on: Clay Dopke and Dr. Max Mejias. After a brief discussion, Dr. Max Mejias was elected to the Board of Governors position of VP of Conflict Resolution.

Regional Director Ratings

The next issue on the agenda was whether or not to make Regional Directors administrators. After a brief discussion, it was stated that the 13 founders of VATSIM and the developers group would have lifetime administrator status unless abused. The Board of Governors will have administrator status only while they are on the board. After this statement, it was voted on and decided that Regional Directors should also be administrators to separate themselves from other personnel within his or her respective region.

Supervisor Ratings

Mr. Jenkins read a list of proposed supervisors. Mr. Collins adds several names to the proposed list of supervisors also.

The board voted to go into executive session on this issue.

The board then came out of executive session and voted on the following names for supervisor:

Guillermo Martinez (This one is listed as sup already)

Luiz Eduardo Blanski

Antonio Guzzo

Peng-Yuan Tung

Yu-Chang SHEN

All of those above were approved for a supervisor (level 11) rating.

Server Briefing

Mr. Bazzano gave the board a server briefing.

The board voted to enter into executive session on this issue.

The board then came out of executive session and went back on record.
