Happy birthday

That's right, VATSIM, the International Virtual Air Traffic Simulation Network has been creating communities and friendships and allowing people to enjoy the dream activities of flying and providing air traffic services together for ten years.

This achievement is one that could not have happenned without the support of a plethora of staff members at all levels (past and present) but more importantly the people who create a busy online environment that benefits everyone.

A great achievement like this cannot go unmarked and so many events will be taking place both within and between regions.

Events include a large long haul flyin across the world in September/October as well as more immediate co-ordinated events from 27^th July (VATSIM's Official Anniversary date) with many facilities attempting to be online for 24 hours to mark this celebration. Please click here for details.

So, join in and celebrate. The party will start 27^th, but will really start to rock upcoming weekends. Over the next 12 months, expect more and more challenging activities. Most Divisions and Regions will have a 1st party on July 30th, 31st with lots of open ATC stations, challenging events, but the party will rock on. Just take the Cross the Globe flyins in upcoming autumn. 

So, its time to celebrate for all members, pilots and controllers. Celebrate a bit with your flight sim, but more important with your local community i.e. Virtual Airline, FIR, VACC and ARTCC. Say "happy birthday" and thank each other for being part of a real Virtual Air Traffic SIMulation, our virtual home for virtual and real friends.
